As of August 20th, 2008, 240 citizens have been trained in the CERT program.
CERT Training
CERT Training is FREE!!!! All CERT classes are paid for through grants so that civilians may be trained in disaster preparedness without the stress of payment. Each participant will receive 20 hours of fantastic training along with receiving a list of reccomend equipment.

Class 1
Introduction to the CERT program.
This class explains how the community works in disasters and the role that CERT members play in that response.
It includes sections on Personal preparedness, Disaster Psychology and Terrorism.
Class 2
Disaster Medical Response and Triage
This class teaches the basics of first aid and treatment of victims. It also explains the basics of triage and includes a hands on exercise with real life victims.
Class 3
Fire Suppression
This class goes into basic fire science and ends with a hands on practical putting out fires with fire extinguishers.
Class 4
Light Urban Search and Rescue.
This class explains the methodology of Search and Rescue within the confines of a building and includes a search exercise.
Class 5
Final Exercise
A Final written exam to make sure you're ready for the exercise.
A full-scale exercise involving all the aspects of CERT including many victims to rescue.
American Red Cross First Aid & CPR with AED certification is included in the training. Participants can schedule this with the Red Cross at their own convenience after completing the course, or organizations having CERT training for their members can have it added to the course(2 more four hour sessions).
